Emily's Mission
"Emily created Cheers From Emily for the purpose of providing children with cancer electronic and other types of gifts in order to reduce their boredom and to allow them to communicate with family, friends, and their school."
Having spent so much time in the hospital herself, she understood how the seemingly endless days and nights in a hospital can become monotonous. After receiving a tablet and then a netbook, she decided that the other children should have something as well.
We, therefore, carry out her mission and her wishes by providing kids with cancer those gifts, electronic and other, in the hopes that we can bring a little bit of cheer to these all too well deserving kids.

Emily's Story
The inspiration behind our mission
A Spirit That Soared
Emily was born in New Jersey on February 10th, 2002. From the very beginning, she had this incredible smile that could melt your heart. Emily was a girly girl through and through; she loved everything pink, couldn't get enough of clothes and shoes, and as she got older, texting with her friends became her favorite pastime.
When she was just four years old, Emily discovered her passion: cheerleading. She joined the Central Jersey Allstars and later, when the family moved to Indiana, the Interactive Academy Allstars, where she became known as the "best jumper."
Emily — A Spirit That Soared
The Journey That Changed Everything
In January 2011, Emily started complaining about pain in her right leg. At first, we thought it was just another cheerleading injury. But it didn't get better. One day at practice, Emily, who never complained, said she couldn't continue because the pain was too much. That's when we knew something was seriously wrong.
An X-ray revealed the heartbreaking truth: a tumor on her right femur. The diagnosis was Osteosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer. Our world was shattered.
Emily began chemotherapy immediately and fought bravely for 16 long months. She underwent surgery to remove the tumor and part of her femur, but complications meant she would never walk again. Confined to a wheelchair, her spirit never wavered. With her team by her side, she even performed a cheer routine at a Relay For Life event.
During her time at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital, Emily noticed that there weren't any rooms designed for girls. She thought that wasn't fair and kept pushing for a girl-themed room. A year later, "Emily's Cheerleading Room" was dedicated just a week before she passed away on May 11th, 2012.
Even while battling cancer, Emily was concerned about other kids in the hospital. She had received many gifts, including an iPad, but she really wanted something with a keyboard. After getting a netbook for her birthday, she decided other kids would love to have one too. That's how "Cheers From Emily" was born.
Emily was the embodiment of a true cheerleader, always positive, resilient, and compassionate. Though her life was tragically cut short, her legacy continues to inspire us all.

What started as Emily's simple wish has grown into a nationwide movement of hope.
Our original purpose began with providing children battling cancer with tablets and laptops to bring cheer during their extended hospital stays. As time passed, our mission evolved, and we extended our support to hospitals across the country, ensuring all children can find solace in our diverse range of entertainment gifts.
From portable game karts equipped with PlayStations and Xbox consoles that can be enjoyed in any hospital room, to fully furnished game rooms featuring air hockey tables, kitchenettes, and a myriad of toys, we strive to bring smiles to every child's face.
Based in Indiana, we take pride in assisting children and hospitals nationwide.

Finding Our Name
A name that captured her heart instantly.
The name of our organization took almost no time at all to decide upon. With Emily's love of cheerleading and the fact that she was indeed trying to bring cheer to children with cancer, Cheers From Emily was born.
Emily's Vision

To represent her passion and spirit for the sport she loved most.
A Gold Ribbon
The universal symbol for bone and childhood cancer awareness.
Pink Lettering
Because it was her absolute favorite color in the world.
A Rose
A special touch from her parents, honoring her middle name.
The Perfect Embodiment
After a few different attempts and a little rework here and there, we arrived at the logo we have today. We think it really embodies the spirit that Emily had - full of love, hope, and an unwavering desire to bring joy to others.
